Algarve Spelling Get It Right

When I decided to create this website my good lady wife said to me “do you know how many different ways people spell Algarve?”

I replied most people get it right they simply put A-L-G-A-R-V-E

“wrong” smirked Mrs T and to prove it she handed me a post card from her cousin Jilly

Dear All

Having a great time in the algarvve weather is…

Have to admit I was stunned cousin Jilly is an English teacher and the front of the card said on it Portimao, Algarve doh, she must have been on the vino or caught the sun.

Anyway I decided to do a bit of digging on the net and found a multitude of misspells for Algarve here are just a few.

allgarve, alggarve, algarrve, algarvve, algarv, algare, alarve, algrve, algave, agarve, algavre, algarev, algrave, alagrve, lagarve, aglarve, algaarve

For the record Algarve is spelt A-L-G-A-R-V-E

The Algarve - An Introduction

The Algarve is the most southern region of Portugal. With around 100 miles (160 km) of beaches and 300 days of sunshine a year it makes an ideal holiday destination.

The Algarve coastline is a mix of beaches and bays, many secluded, which are lined with with orange and red sandstone cliffs and abundant trees on one side and the cool Atlantic ocean on the other.

Moorish villages, golf, bars, restaurants, clubs, watersports and more golf, all combine to make the Algarve what it is.

The Algarve provence is served by Faro airport and most destinations are in easy reach of there.

For many years the Algarve has been a magnet for tourists largely due to the gently shelving beaches and warm air currents which make a very heady mix.
