Alvor one of the most picturesque villages on the Algarve
Alvor is seeped in the history and traditions of the Algarve, the enclosed narrow streets have restricted modern development ensuring it retains much of the charm of a picturesque fishing village.

Alvor’s streets are filled with white houses and colorful boats making it one of the most beautiful and charming villages on the Algarve.
This ancient coastal village is an extremely popular holiday location especially for family vacations, Alvor boasts a “Blue Flag” children friendly beach, Golf Club and Aqua Park.
In many of Alvor’s streets you will find bars with live music and a diverse selection of restaurants, however one you get away from the main tourist areas you can find traces of the older fishing village.

Alvor is more then that, is a great place to stay and to live as it is still a small place near the big city of Portimao, only 5 Km away.
Is very quiet in the winter and very busy in the summer, the people are friendly and they will help any visitors. The beach it’s its biggest attraction as the golf.
In the restaurants you still can taste the great fresh fish, cached by the last local fisherman’s.
I recommend, to visit the harbour in the late afternoon to enjoy, with your partner, its great sun set.
Just go there enjoy Alvor
